We want to provide our residents with the necessary voting resources.  Voter registration forms are available at the Township Municipal Building, the Dauphin County Courthouse, and the Department of Transportation.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old on the day of the next election.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen for at least one month before the election.
  • Residency: Must be a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district for at least 30 days before the election.
  • Convictions: You cannot be registered to vote if you are incarcerated for a felony conviction (unless your sentence is completed)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Voter registration must be completed at least 15 days before the election.

WAYS TO REGISTER

  • Online: Through the Pennsylvania Department of State’s online registration system.
  • By Mail: Complete a voter registration form and mail it to the county voter registration office.
  • In Person: At various locations like county election office, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), or other state agencies.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/VOTER ID LAW

First-time voters may be required to show identification when voting for the first time at a polling place. Accepted IDs include a driver’s license, utility bill, or other government-issued identification.

Please note: While Pennsylvania does not require voters to present photo ID when voting, first-time voters may be required to show ID when voting at the polls.

PARTY AFFILIATION

Voters may choose to affiliate with a political party (Democratic, Republican, etc.) when registering, or they can register as “No Party” (Independent). This affects primary elections, where only party-affiliated voters can vote in that party’s primary.

CHANGING REGISTRATION INFORMATION

You must update your registration if you move, change your name, or wish to change party affiliation. This can be done online, by mail, or in person.
