NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Derry, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, will conduct three public hearings on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the meeting room of the Derry Township Municipal Complex, 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA.

The purpose of the first hearing is to discuss and receive public comments regarding the Township’s proposed Zoning Ordinance.  The proposed Zoning Ordinance may be viewed at the Derry Township Department of Community Development, 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or online at www.derrytownship.org under ‘Proposed Zoning Ordinance Update.’

Upon conclusion of the first hearing, the Board of Supervisors will commence the second hearing.  The purpose of the second hearing is to receive public comment regarding proposed Ordinance No. 684, which would amend Chapter 185 (Subdivision and Land Development), Article I (General Provisions); Article II (Definitions); Article III (Plan Procedures and Specifications); Article IV (Design and Construction Standards); and Article XII (Administration and Enforcement) of the Code of the Township of Derry as necessary to be consistent with the Township’s proposed Zoning Ordinance regarding master plan processes, definitions, references to sensitive environmental areas, and removal of floor area ratio considerations.

Upon conclusion of the second hearing, the Board of Supervisors will commence the third hearing.  The purpose of the third hearing is to receive public comment regarding proposed Ordinance No. 685, which would amend Chapter 174 (Stormwater Management), Article III (Stormwater Management Standards) of the Code of the Township of Derry as necessary to be consistent with the Township’s proposed Zoning Ordinance by deleting Appendix D and reference to Appendix D, and clarifying when an exemption of the requirements is possible.
